Tools
All tools should be structurally sound for intended use level.
Wicks should be separated from wood supports by at least 4 inches of metal.
Drop forged steel, open chain links and spring steel should be avoided in any construction.
All leather stress points should be soft and supple, never hard or cracked.
Any tool should be able to survive the “yank test” - grasp wick and handle, then yank with appropriate force to performance stress.
